Car Seat Inspection System

Keyence CV5000 series vision controller with 4 high resolution cameras verify the presence and correct assembly of 24 features on child safety car seats after final assembly by operators. The Keyence vision system was programmed to save failed images and to report pass/fail data to customer’s computer.

The system used a VFD controlled conveyor to advance parts into station. Parts that passed inspection were pin stamped and passed out of the system. Rejects were contained inside the cabinet.

A touch screen HMI was used to display good/bad counts and for quick and easy part number selection. The inspection cameras were installed inside a large custom light box that included light guarding panels, access door and casters for final box positioning at end of the assembly lines.
