Gaging Metal(s) Thickness & Width

Cincinnati Automation developed a precision on-line gaging system for measuring the thickness and width of metal(s) during continuous processing. An off-line version is also available for gaging individual sheets of metal(s).

Keyence LKG series lasers are positioned above and below the material to calculate thickness. Multiple sets of lasers can be mounted to servo/ball screws programmed to move to certain positions for measurements at different widths. Sensors can be installed inside of a heavy tubular steel frame for physical protection. Additional lasers or high resolution machine vision cameras can be used to determine material width.
